Greetings!

IONS NW has begun a new meeting format for 2007.

During 2007, our planning team is weaving together a series of integrated meetings. Every quarter we facilitate 3 meetings on a featured theme extracted from IONS Shift Magazine. Seattle IONS' new focus is called Shifting with Shift.

Seattle IONS Community - Shifting with Shift
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Last month we featured a study on Towards a Science of Peace with selected articles from IONS Shift magazine. You can catch the
articles at the link below.
This month, we have set aside a 2.5 hour meeting with international change catalyst and author Sharif Abdullah on Feb, 12, 2007, 7-
9:30 PM at East Shore Unitarian, Spring Hall. Our community meeting will focus on collectively exploring creating a common society from Sharif's worldview. Sharif Abdullah's work on Creating a World That Works for All, the title of his latest book, exemplifies this theme on peace and transformation.
In this meeting Sharif's careful weaving of collective wisdom through presentation and break out groups, a practical community application of last month's magazine study, will also inform next month's integrative dialogue.
To catch up on the articles we discussed in January, follow the link below. You will begin to sense the weaving together of last month's reading/discussion and this month's presentation and break out groups
with Sharif Abdullah, toward integration on envisioning a world that works for all .
Listen deeply, take notes! Another round of dialogue on this theme takes place at our next month's Seattle IONS community meeting, only this time, we will be enriched by the work of Sharif Abdullah and The Common Society Movement.
Envisioning A Common Society Movement - Monday, Feb 12, 2007, 7:00-9:30 PM
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Our present consciousness has created a world that works for very, very few.  It doesn't even work for those who think they control it.  We must move beyond our present social, political and ecological

traps. We must create a world that works for all beings.

If humanity is to survive on this planet, we must find new ways of resolving our conflicts and healing the deep divisions within our society. We must create a global human society, one that is in line with the highest levels of our consciousness.

We are being pushed by our problems and pulled by our vision into a "common society"—not "one world government," but a society that is actually in line with our universal human values.  We have the opportunity to do what has NEVER been done before, in all human history: create a united human society, a common society, a society of consciousness.

Using his award-winning book Creating a World That Works for All as a starting point, Sharif Abdullah will lead us in an exploration of the conceptual, practical and spiritual foundation for an inclusive global society, examine current trends and conditions, and explore the steps that will lead us to a world that works for all.

IONS President James O'Dea and Judith Thompson will interview Sharif Abdullah, Feb. 07, 2007 on IONS Shift in Action Quest for Global Healing teleseminar. Shift in Action members can find articles by and about Sharif Abdullah as well as archived audios on the web at the link below. The teleseminar on completion will also be posted there.
