Seattle IONS August, 2006 News 

1)       SEE YOU IN SEPTEMBER!
August is vacation month for Seattle IONS. Our regular programs are canceled for August. See you in September! We will return with a great Fall line up. Our September schedule includes an annual Bohmian dialogue on Transformation and Peace on September 11 and on September 25, Ceci Miller - An Introduction to Sacred Visitations.

2)       THE ART OF COMMUNITY CONFERENCE NW
The Art of Community Conference is coming in September cosponsored by IONS NW and other organizations. Here is what Nancy Lanphear says about it:  “What I know is:  The Art of Community Conference September 8-10  (Friday-Sunday) is going to be a very exciting event and one that can address many questions and concerns we find in community and in the Community Movement.

So, I have decided to write a personal letter to you in hopes that it will reach you and that you will read it and find your interest being sparked. The conference will contain topics of deep concern for our planet, fun talks and presentations, open space times, and a community resource room for communities to share their photos, stories, products and whatever else is important to you in community.” Read more about it and link to it at http://www.ionsnw.org/artofcommunitynw.htm.

 

3)      GATHERING OF EMERGING LEADERS
September 10-15, IONS President, James O' Dea, travels to Omega Institute in New York to support activists in facilitating a week long multi-generational Conference for Emerging Leaders (http://www.noetic.org/emails/omega_event/email.htm). It is called Gathering of Emerging Leaders of All Ages: Transformational Activism to Birth a New Paradigm. This is conscious community building in an experiential way that is so exciting!
