Description: This presentation will change how you think about your body, especially as you age. Going beyond the current obsession with fitness and fighting off decline, we can develop a higher awareness of our bodies as treasured archives of our experience and as vibrant vehicles for self-discovery and creative expression. In exploring this new level of body consciousness, Samples illustrates how to draw upon the emotional and spiritual wisdom our bodies have to offer right up until our last breath. You'll get to try out sensory awareness activities, involving movement, sound, and quiet attention that will reveal the hidden treasures your body holds.

Pat Samples, MA, MFA, is a transformational educator, writer, and speaker. She is the author of Body Odyssey: Lessons from the Bones and Belly and six other books, including Daily Comforts for Caregivers. She also has written hundreds of articles on health, aging, and human behavior. More than 300 organizations have hosted her talks and workshops on aging, caregiving, body wisdom, and inspired living. Samples has a master's degrees in creative writing and human development, and she has worked in health care, social services, ministry, and the arts. Description: At the turn of the century a New York Ophthalmologist by the name of William H. Bates (1860 - 1931) began to question the official line—that your eyes will get worse as you get older and there is nothing you can do about it except wear corrective lenses. For the last 10 years, Leo Angart has taught a specialized “vision training” method all around the world. He will be introducing it to our IONS community on The Eastside. Please read a more thorough description of the introduction at http://www.ionsnw.org/visiontraining.htm or below as Leo Angart introduces it to an integral medical community in Seattle.

Topic: IONS NW and Seattle IONS Integral Health Forum

Introduction to Vision Training

Presenter: Leo Angart

Date: Wednesday, May 10, 2006

Time: 7:00 – 9:00 PM

Location: Seattle Healing Arts (6300 Ninth Ave NE)

Fee: $5 Suggested Donation

Description: The purpose of the Seattle IONS Integral Health Forum, in conjunction with Seattle Healing Arts, is to create space to explore topics related to integral health and create a sharing circle for open discussion on health and healing. We encourage and support responsibility for wellness and a whole-person approach to healing and open it to the public and practitioners alike.

Come and listen to Leo Angart, inspiring author and teacher, describe what vision is about, how vision problems may be reversed and what this vision training has to offer (described as above). He will show you an integral approach using the Bates Method, developed by New York Ophthalmologist, William H. Bates (1860 - 1931), who at the turn of the century questioned our assumptions about the health of sight. Discovering that eyesight naturally changes all the time, he began to uncover the natural way of seeing. He cured himself from Presbyopia (far-sightedness that comes with age) and went on to consistently and successfully cure a whole host of eye problems within a very short time.

The professional community has largely ignored Dr. Bates’ ideas. Today it is mostly people who have been cured using his methods that practice the Bates Method. The work addresses all kinds of eye problems including cataracts, double vision, macula degeneration, hyperopia, presbyopia, myopia, astigmatism.

For the last 10 years, Leo Angart has taught all around the world his integrated “vision training” method. Leo’s background in NLP, hypnosis, and pranic healing has helped him create a holistic approach that incorporates elements from different traditions in a synergistic manner. Leo’s vision training program includes the use of belief work as well as visualization, relaxation, energy healing and physical exercises derived from the Bates method. Description: In a world where the constant message is not enough-ness, struggle seems like the best strategy.  But struggle keeps us clenched and separate.  Contraction is the breeding ground of scarcity, while abundance thrives in flow.

This evening identifies the sources of the Trance's hold on us and offers specific practices for embodying (not just conceptualizing) wholeness and flow, which are the headwaters of abundance. From there we have access to our innate greatness. Breaking free from the Trance of Scarcity changes the world, both personally and globally.

A Certified Master Somatic Coach, Victoria is a leader, facilitator, and educator with 20 years experience helping individual leaders, small entrepreneurial firms, non-profit agencies, and mega-corporations succeed and thrive on both personal and business fronts. Her specialty is working with leaders - those who have or want to have influence and impact - to be great in the midst of chaos and challenge, where leaders live.
