DESCRIPTION
Community dialogue will follow James O'Dea's presentation joined by
panelists. This evening is designed to engage the public, not only with
the presentation and wonderful wisdom of panelists, but with your input.
Come join us...
At the interface of science and
spirituality comes a new center of evolutionary purpose and
creativity. As humanity wakes to the reality of clashing ecological,
economical and social systems, a tremendous despair brings us to question
the institutions of society.
From environmental degradation to economic collapse, a spiritual crisis is at the center of widening gaps of class, race, wealth, ecology and justice. A paralyzing fear grips us as we try to stretch systems to accommodate imploding worldviews.
The question of how to hospice our dying cultural story of technological entrancement and exploitation brings us to great longing for a new guiding story for our age. As hope emerges to birth a new evolutionary story of faith and love, we look to humanity's deeper relationship within creation, incorporating the empirical evidence of the value of care with the wisdom of the ages.
Our human assumptions of separateness which have shaped the old story since antiquity no longer serve the future. From a passionate, collective integrative will, a unified story is taking shape. We must take responsibility for age old issues of primacy and fragmentation. For generations to come, we must change the story of destruction to one of profound inter-connection and engaged cooperation.
The new cosmology is compelling the heart of humanity to take action. The science of individual, social and collective transformation is capable of joining the human family as never before.
You are invited to join a dialogue with great leaders to explore this alive new cosmology blending Science, Faith, and Activism for a New Universe Story. Please join James O’Dea, President of The Institute of Noetic Sciences, as he presents this new science and joins with a diverse panel of Interfaith clergy who will comment from the perspective of faith. Interfaith clergy and leaders will be announced soon. This event is hosted by Reverend Billie Blain of Portland Unity.

James O'Dea
is the President of The
Institute of Noetic Sciences and a native of Ireland. Prior to IONS, James was executive director of Seva and director of the Washington DC office of Amnesty International,
testifying before Congress, meeting with two U.S. presidents and many
foreign heads of state, and representing Amnesty International to the
State Department, the White House, and the World Conference on Human
Rights. He created and currently co-leads a series of dialogues on
social healing.
