Dr. Susanne Cook-Greuter is an internationally known authority on mature adult development. She is an experienced and dedicated teacher, and the principal of Cook-Greuter & Associates. Her Harvard thesis, Postautonomous Ego Development (1999), is a landmark study in the characteristics and assessment of late stage meaning makers. As a linguist, she continues to explore and marvel at the intricacies of language and meaning making. Susanne is a founding member of Ken Wilber’s Integral Institute and co-director of its Psychology Center. She is also a member of the Guild of American Papercutters, and loves to observe and draw nature as an insight practice. She values learning through all senses, and wishes to share her experience and knowledge of the examined mind with you. In this evening lecture with Dr. Susanne Cook-Greuter, one of the Integral community’s most well known researchers and teachers, explore the nature, beauties and limits of symbolic representations. How do different symbolic representations work? How would you communicate your wildest inner experiences without language? Why is it so difficult to question our language habit?
