Description: "Join Rupert Sheldrake, biologist and originator of the theory of morphogenetic fields; Ralph Abraham, mathematician and leader in the new science of chaos; and Terence McKenna, shamanologist and ethnopharmacologist, as they 'trialogue' on chaos and the world soul." (Mystic Fire Video, taped at Esalen Institute, 1995).

We dug into the IONS video archives and found this short, unusual historic video conversation on Creation, Imagination, and Chaos. Following a viewing, we will have a noetic discussion.

Metamorphosis: A Trialogue on Chaos and The World Soul features a conversation with Rupert Sheldrake, the biologist, Terence McKenna, the shamanolgoist, and Ralph Abraham, Mathematician. It is edited with music from Luna by Gabrielle Roth and the Mirrors and has hypnotic visual effects by Hilary Harris,

Rupert Sheldrake is a biologist and author of many books including The Sense of Being Stared At, And Other Aspects of the Extended Mind. He is also extended faculty of The Institute of Noetic Sciences.

"We dream of a world in which nature is seen as alive, in which the imagination permeates all reality, in which animals and plants are seen as a part of a living texture, the living components, the cells of Gaia and Gaia in the life of the cosmos as a whole."--Rupert Sheldrake

Ralph Abraham is a mathematician, one of the pioneers of chaos theory and the author of several books including Chaos, Gaia, Eros: A Chaos Pioneer Uncovers the Three Great Streams of History.

"We sit in the evening and talk and what happens is synergistic, miraculous, growth, evolutionary... I meant thrilling because of going to the edge, going beyond the edge, having company there."--Ralph Abraham

The late Terence McKenna was a scholar of shamanism, ethno-botanist, psychedelic researcher and author of many books including Food of the Gods and True Hallucinations.

"The flutter of the moth's wing can trigger the hurricane. This is not a poetic statement. This is the fact of the matter within this kind of description of nature. In other words, very small changes create cascades into where whole states shift and are perturbed."--Terence McKenna
